Genealogy Social Hour

Join us on the 1st Thursday of each month to chat about your recent discoveries. Each month will focus on a different topic.

Book Club

Join us to discuss books that feature a variety of historical and genealogical topics! Please see our Book Club Page for the current book and future selections! All are welcome!

This group is a benefit for Members only, and meeting times vary based on availability. Laurel Hilton offers monthly assignments and opportunities for review and sharing. See our Writing Group Page for more information.

DNA Group

Meets at 7pm on the 3rd Thursday of most months. Genetic Genealogy is explored, and all experience levels are welcome... bring your questions! See your DNA Group Page for more information.

GENERAL MEETINGS

General Meetings are open to the public, with no admission fee, and generally held on the 4th Thursday of every month. We usually have an invited speaker, or participate in small-group workshops or roundtables.

ONLINE RESOURCES

Marin County Records

Indexes of various Marin County vital records, military records, probate files, wills and other documents have been compiled and are searchable by all. Some transcribed or scanned records are also available for Members only.

The MCGS Kin Tracer Archive

A quarterly publication of our Society from 1978 to 2011. Index of included names and topics are available on this site; full issues are downloadable by Members.

Genealogy Records Publications

Early Marin County Records are available in book form and may be purchased online. Many thanks to Cathy Gowdy for her efforts in assembling these documents and managing their distribution!
