MCGS Field Trip to the California Genealogical Society Library in Oakland on Thursday, June 28, 2018
Join us for a day of research in the library that the CGS website describes as follows "The collection consists of thousands of family histories, local and state histories, maps, reference books and periodicals. San Francisco, the Bay Area and the Gold Rush are particularly well-documented. In addition, the collection is especially rich in sources for New England, mid-Atlantic states and some interior states."
The Mayflower Society Library, also rich in New England sources, is located just across the hall from the CGS library. It will be open and available to us as well.
Because the parking lot of the Family History Center will be closed for paving that day, we will meet in the Park and Ride lot just off the freeway at Smith Ranch Road, San Rafael at 9:00 AM to carpool to the library in Oakland.
