Presentation:  Extra, Extra! Your Ancestors Are in the Newspaper. The Who, What, When, Where, Why and How of Newspaper Research.

Newspaper research is more than obituary hunting. Thorough newspaper research can be tedious, but the payoff is huge. Learn Who is in the newspapers. What you need to do to find them, When your ancestors may appear in the paper, Where the papers are located, Why you need to do the research and How to fine the Newspapers.

Presented by Pamela Dallas.  Pamela is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, Genealogical Speakers Guild National Genealogical Society and several local societies. She has appeared on local television and radio talk shows to discuss genealogy and has written and appeared in several genealogy instructional videos aired on local TV.
 

Election of Officers for 2010 - 2011 year.

The Genealogical Society General meetings are open to the public, with no admission fee. Feel free to drop in! We meet on the 4th Wednesday of every month, with a couple of exceptions. November's meeting is held on the 3rd Wednesday, due to Thanksgiving. There is no general meeting in December due to the holidays and our Winter Holiday Party. In October, we have an evening workshop and in April we hold our Annual General Meeting and Elections. In May of each year we hold an Anniversary Celebration.
