The organization serves to fill the need for local access to genealogical materials and instructions; to promote interest in genealogical and related historical and biographical research; to preserve manuscripts, documents, records, family histories, and other genealogical holdings; and to encourage compilation and publication of records and family histories. Additionally we strive to provide instruction in research techniques involving evidence, proof, and documentation, stressing accuracy and ethics and to serve as a medium for sharing knowledge, and educational and social activities.
Marin County Genealogical Society was formed in May 1977 and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit California Corporation.
