PRESENTATION:

From DNA to Genetic Genealogy: Everything You wanted to know but were afraid to Ask

DR. STEPHEN P. MORSE

Who is Stephen Morse?  Before he became known in genealogical circles for his One-Step Webpages, he was a computer professional with a doctorate in electrical engineering. He invented the “great grandfather” of the Pentium Chips that power today’s desktop computers.

He became interested in DNA and presents interesting ideas and concepts in this lecture. He published a paper on DNA; it's at http://stevemorse.org/genetealogy/dna.htm.

There's other information at his website at www.SteveMorse.org. He has received numerous awards for his work.

Come hear Steve Morse, an excellent speaker with a fertile sense of humor.

About our Meetings:

The Genealogical Society General meetings are open to the public, with no admission fee. Feel free to drop in! Bring your friends as everyone is welcome. Come early and ask your burning genealogical questions of other members before the meeting.

We meet on the 4th Wednesday of every month, with a couple of exceptions. November's meeting is held on the 3rd Wednesday, due to Thanksgiving. There is no general meeting in December due to the holidays and our Winter Holiday Party.

Annually, several of our regularly scheduled meetings have a certain focus: April, we hold our Annual General Meeting and Elections (but there's usually a presentation also); May of each year we hold an Anniversary Celebration; and in September, we have a workshop.
