As a former employee of Broderbund Software she had many research discs in her personal library and wished there was a way to have the group be able to have the same ease of research she was enjoying from the comfort of her home. She wrote to the Legal Department of Broderbund Software and some five months later had negotiated permission for the group to share discs owned by the Society. In 1998 Lauren negotiated with Palladium Software to share their research discs with the group also. The library began with donations from Lauren's personal collection and has increased in size by the donation of discs from other members of the Society as well as Palladium Software.
