LONG SHEPARD |
A
pretty wedding, with the added interest and romance of a hastily planned
war-time affair, was that of Miss Georgene SHEPARD and Lieut. Edwin C. LONG, Artillery
Corps, USA, which was celebrated yesterday afternoon at “The Hedges”, the
quaint home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Miller, in Sausalito. The ceremony, which was performed by the
Rev. George Maxwell, rector of the Christ Church in Sausalito, took place at
4 o’clock, the bride being given away by her father, A.D. Shepard….. She had
no maid of honor, but there were two attractive bridesmaids – Miss Margery
Shepard, the bride’s younger sister, and Miss Edith Miller. …..Lieut. Frederick Test, USA, was the best
man….. Lieut. Long will leave on Tuesday morning for Cuba, where he will join
General Funston, whose aid he is.
Mrs. Long will remain for the present at Ft. Baker. |

Harry BEAUREGARD of the Launch Claire and Miss Estelle PEDROTTI were married
at Duncans Mills last Sunday. On
their return the happy couple were given a turkey dinner by their friends. |

FOUCRAULT CARVEY |

Petaluma Argus The wedding
of Miss Tessie CARVEY and George FOUCRAULT took place Tuesday in San Rafael
and was a quiet affair. The ceremony
was performed at the Catholic Church, Rev. Father Walsh officiating. Miss Mattie Carvey, sister of the bride,
acted as bridesmaid, and Louis Fairbanks, cousin of the groom, was best
man. The couple will reside in San
Francisco, where the groom has a cozy cottage awaiting the bride. The bride is the youngest daughter of Mrs.
Annie Carvey of Bloomfield and sister of Mrs. James Carroll, Miss Mattie,
John and Dennis Carvey. She is one of
Bloomfield’s fair and popular daughters.
She was reared and educated in Bloomfield, and has many friends to
wish her happiness. Mr. Foucrault,
like his charming bride, is very popular in Tomales, where he resided a
number of years with his parents. He
is the second eldest son of Mrs. Foucrault, and a brother of Louis Foucrault
of Petaluma. |

MORETTI MARTIN |
In the cathedral
at Cevio, Switzerland, on October 10th, Miss Linda MARTIN of this
city, became the happy bride of Fiorenzo MORETTI, formerly of this city and
now of San Diego, CA. The wedding was
of a quiet nature and was witnessed only by the near relatives and friends of
the young people. A recent
bereavement in the family of the bride was the reason for the quiet
ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. MORETTI are
expected home from Europe in about two months and will make their home in
California. A.J. MARTIN, a brother of
the bride, was wedded in Alameda on Wednesday of this week to Miss Katherine
KIRK. Mrs. MORETTI is a sister of
Charles, Arnold, and Leopold Martin, Mrs. P. Dolcini, Mrs. Ben Pattochi of
Petaluma, and the Mrs. Professor Mattei of Switzerland. Mrs. Mattei and Leopold Martin were
present at the wedding of their sister.
Mr. Moretti formerly resided here and moved to Santa Cruz, later going
to San Diego to conduct one of the big ranches owned by the Martin Company, of
which his bride is a stockholder.
They have hosts of friends throughout the State who will give them a
royal welcome home. |

Salinas. Fred is well known in
insurance circles in San Francisco and in this county. He is the son of J.F. Birlem, formerly
Captain of the Guard at San Quentin Prison.
Fred attended the public schools in this and previous to going to San
Francisco was a newspaper correspondent in this county. Fred has many friends who wish him

Miss Elaine GILLIAM, a niece of Mrs. William Wosser and Frank Orr. The happy young couple went to Santa Cruz
on their honeymoon and will make their home here. |

A very
pretty wedding took place in the picturesque Catholic Church of Our Lady of
Carmel in Mill Valley Wednesday afternoon.
The contracting parties were Miss Charlotte LENHART, a highly
accomplished musician and who has innumerable friends throughout the county
and P.W. BREEN, a prominent real estate owner and dealer of Hollister. The bride extended a church invitation to
all her schoolmates. Rev. Father
Valentini performed the ceremony and a special choir sang. The young couple will make their home in
Hollister. This is the second
marriage between the same families during the last few years. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. James
Lenhart and a sister of Mrs. Thomas J. Lennon. Since she was a small child, Mill Valley has been her home. |

of Miss Katherine KIRK and Arnold J. MARTIN took place Wednesday morning at
St. Joseph’s Church in Alameda, and was a very quiet affair, being witnessed
only by the immediate relatives of the couple. The couple will reside at Chileno Valley. The bride is well known in Petaluma, where
she has frequently visited. She is
the sister of the late Mrs. A.J. Martin.
Mr. Martin is one of this city’s wealthy residents, and is exceedingly
popular throughout Sonoma and Marin Counties. He is a son of the late Charles Martin of Chileno Valley, who
was one of the wealthiest pioneers in this vicinity. |

young couple will make their home in the future. Miss Lenhart was for years the very efficient organist and
choir leader at the Catholic Church here, and was always to the front
whenever any charitable or public entertainment for the good of the community
was being arranged. She will be
missed by a very large circle of friends. |

Merchant, was married by Rev. Dr. Yarrow, to Miss Mary OWENS at the residence of Mr. and
Mrs. L.W.F. Downs. The affair was
quiet but very interesting, and the happy couple will make Mill Valley their
future home. |

SWANSON BROWN |
Last
Monday the numerous friends of Mr. Andrew SWANSON, a retired merchant of San
Francisco, and Mrs. Charlotte BROWN, widow of the late Captain Brown, for years
past a resident of this town, were joyfully permitted to congratulate them on
entering into the holy bonds of matrimony.
The ceremony was performed at San Francisco by Rev. William M. Reilly
at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Rich, most warm and long time friends of the
betrothed. The fiancée, now Mrs.
Swanson, is especially felicitated by her troop of friends who abound in
almost every section of the county, one in which she has resided almost
unremittingly for the past 33 years, recalling to all of them most happy
reminiscences of herself and her late husband, Captain Brown, who three years
ago succumbed to the final call of the hereafter. |

WILBURN WAGNER |
The
Presbyterian Church was the setting of a very pretty wedding Wednesday
morning. Lee WILBURN was honorably
discharged from the Coast Artillery on Wednesday, and celebrated the day by
taking Miss Bertha M. WAGNER for better or worse that morning. The ceremony was performed by Rev. C.G.
Paterson and Corporal C.W. Giessel was best man and Miss Frances Murphy was
bridesmaid. Miss Stanly, of Mill
Valley, played the wedding march.
They will visit the parents of the groom in Texarkana, Arkansas, then
return to California. The groom has a
civil service position in the post office waiting. Sausalito will be their home. |

From Petaluma ArgusAt the
Soldate home north of this city on Wednesday afternoon a quiet, but pretty
wedding took place, the contracting parties being Miss Jennie SOLDATE and
Romildo L. MAZZA. Rev. Father J.J.
Dollard performed the ceremony. The
bride is the daughter of Mrs. L. and the late Alex Soldate of Oak View,
Liberty District. She is an
accomplished young lady, and a musician of ability. She is a sister of the Misses Corina, Vina, Alice, Palma, and
Effie Soldate, and the Messrs. Ceevio and Marino Soldate. The groom, who is a well known rancher in
San Antonio, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Mazza of Tocaloma. He is well known in Sonoma and Marin
Counties. He is the brother of Mrs.
P. Scilacci of Point Reyes, Misses Alma, Katie, and Samuel Mazza of Tocaloma,
and the Misses Nellie and Olympia of San Francisco. |
