HERZOG LEVY |
Last
Sunday, surrounded by her family and friends, charming and popular Miss
Leontine HERZOG became the bride of A. Slayer LEVY. The ceremony was performed at the beautiful home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Herzog on Mission street in this city. For
weeks past elaborate preparations for the event had been made, the
completeness of which was apparent, in the beautiful decorated house, and the
attention to detail which made the wedding one of the prettiest ever seen in
this city. The
ceremony was performed in the garden beneath a blower of flowers. Rabbi M. S. Levy of San Francisco
officiated. The bridesmaid was Miss
L. Levy, a sister of the groom and Mr. L. Goldsmith attended the fortunate
man. The flower girls were Miss
Miriam Blumenthal and Miss Florence Brown.
After the ceremony, the guests, numbering one hundred and sixty six,
sat down to a wedding breakfast prepared by Caterer Leon Cohn of San
Francisco. After this, the young
couple slipped away on an automobile and caught the train at San
Anselmo. They are now enjoying their
honeymoon at Coronado Beach. Miss
Leontine was the last of the seven children of Mr. and Mrs. Herzog to be
married. She was likewise the
youngest. She was born and raised
here and some idea of her popularity can be gathered from the fact that
rarely has a young lady ever received more or costlier presents than those
with which her friends surrounded her.

HERZOG LEVY |
For days past an unusual stir around the beautiful home of Mr. and Mrs. M. Herzog had caused neighbors and friends to surmise something was going to happen, so the event came off last Sunday, when, surrounded by her family and friends, the popular and charming Miss Leontine HERZOG became the bride of A. Slayer LEVY. The wedding ceremony presented a beautiful sight. In the background was an arbor of beautiful evergreens and flowers which formed a pleasing contrast with the lovely white gowns of the lady guests. Beneath a bower of garlands of roses the bride and groom stood to receive the benediction of Rabbi M. S. Levy, while the string orchestra had just completed the wedding march from Lohengrin. The
father of the bride gave the daughter away, and the mother of the groom gave
the son away. The wedding march was
followed by brothers and sisters of the bride and groom. After the
ceremony the guests, numbering one hundred and seventy, sat down to a wedding
breakfast prepared by the celebrated caterer, Leon Cohn. During the feast the couple slipped away
in an automobile and caught a train at San Anselmo, enroute for Coronado Beach,
where they are enjoying their honeymoon.
Miss
Leontine was the last of the seven children of Mr. and Mrs. Herzog to be
married. She was likewise the
youngest. She was born and raised
here, and some idea of her popularity can be gathered from the fact that
rarely has a young lady ever received more or costlier presents than those
with which her friends surrounded her.
The
ushers received the guests at the Sausalito ferry, where the decorated
special cars were in waiting. On
their arrival at San Rafael every stable in the city was represented with
conveyances to bring the gathering to the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Herzog. The
bride wore a beautiful gown of rich white silk, made Princess style and
elaborately trimmed in Duchess lace and orange blossoms. She also wore a beautiful white veil
extending to the hem of her gown and held in place by orange blossoms. The
bridesmaid, Miss L. Levy, sister of the groom, also wore a becoming gown of
white silk. Mr. L. Goldsmith, an
intimate friend of the groom, acted as best man. Master George Herzog, grandson of Mr. M. Herzog, was the ring
bearer. The young man looked
exceedingly cute in a white silk suite with gold trimmings, George Washington
style. Miss
Miriam Blumenthal and Miss Florence Brown appeared sweet in white satin as
flower girls. The wedding march
formed in the parlors of the residence and continued down the front steps
under one continuous canopy of evergreens and ferns, interlaced with
beautiful flowers, on to the lawn. The presents
were costly and numerous. |
