JONES ENGEL |
Much interest has been evinced in the wedding of Miss Edith
JONES daughter of Mr. And Mrs. William Jones, and Otto ENGEL, which was
solemnized at the home of the bridge’s parents near Red Hill at 2 o’clock on
Wednesday. While it was a quiet
family affair, nothing was lacking to make it a very pretty one. The sacred vows were exchanged beneath a
festooned canopy of Christmas berries arranged in one of the bay windows of
the pretty parlor. The house was
otherwise prettily decorated with potted plants and a profusion of flowers
and ferns. After the wedding ceremony
there was an elaborate wedding dinner.
The young people were the recipients of many beautiful and useful
gifts from friends and relatives.
They left on the California North-western southbound train Wednesday
afternoon for a wedding trip after which they will return to San Quentin
where they will reside. The charming
bride was becomingly gowned in a traveling suit of brown with a hat to match
and carried an exquisite bouquet of roses.
The bridesmaid was Miss Dorothy King and Robert S. Brown acted as best
man. The ceremony was performed by
Rev. W. H. Darden of the Presbyterian church. The bride is a Petaluma girl
and a sister of William, Charles and Walter Jones, Mrs. King, Mrs. Boman
(sic), Mrs. Meyer and Mrs. Appleton. The bridegroom is at present a guard at
San Quentin and is very popular. A
host of friends join in wishing Mr. And Mrs. Engel a long and happy wedded
life and a rich measure of prosperity. |

WOSSER SEATON |
The
Wosser home was the scene of a very pretty wedding on last Sunday, when Mary
Alice WOSSER became the bride of Francis Hubert SEATON, of Leamington,
England. The ceremony was performed
by the Rev. Father Valentini. The
parlor was profusely decorated with acacia and huckleberry and an immense
marriage bell of acacia was suspended from the ceiling, under which the happy
couple plighted their troth. The
bride was attended by her sister, Miss Mable J. Wosser, Mr. Robert Milligan
of San Francisco being best man.
After the ceremony all repaired to the dining room where a dainty
repast was served. Mr. and Mrs. Seaton
left on the evening train for New York, where they will make their future
home. Miss Wosser was born and raised
in Sausalito and was one of our fairest flowers. We have our opinion of our local gallants, who allowed so
charming a girl to be carried off to the far east, even by a champion so
doughty as Mr. Seaton. |
