SIMARD

DAVITT

An interesting engagement just announced is that of Miss Eugenie SIMARD of Montreal, Canada, and James DAVITT of San Jose.  Miss Simard has been making an extended visit with her aunt, Mrs. Edward Remilliard of Webster Street, and it was while in San Jose that she met Mr. Davitt.  Now instead of returning to her Canadian home, she will take up her residence in San Jose, for the wedding takes place this afternoon at St. Francis de Sales Church,  Rev. Father McSweeny officiating.  The ceremony will be a very quiet one, owing to recent bereavement in the Remilliard family.  Immediately after the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Davitt leave on their wedding tour, the destination of which has not been announced.  The bride and groom have been connected with educational work in their respective home cities for some time, Mr. Davitt holding a prominent position in the San Jose school department.  The groom is a brother of Thomas Davitt, one of the proprietors of the Sausalito fruit and vegetable store.
