The Genealogical Society General meetings are open to the public, with no admission fee. Feel free to drop in!

Presentation:  Chasing a Civil War Ancestor - Where to begin to look for that person. How to narrow the search. Why would the person have enlisted? Once found, where are the free websites for information and where are the fee websites. What can be found. What does a service record look like and contain. What does a pension record look like and contain. Numerous examples to be provided. Bring your own Civil War ancestor to share with others.
 

Presented by Jeffrey Valliant.  Jeffrey has a B. A. in History with Minor in English, is a Member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and a Mayflower Descendant.   African American descendant study in progress.  Jeffrey also has done research in his Italian and Jewish Ancestry.
